Keep your car's identity when upgrading a failed Gen1 transmission control unit to a Gen2 unit — no immobilizer issues, no dealer visit.

What this service does

The Audi DL501 (7-speed S tronic) and VL381 (multitronic) transmission control units exist in two hardware generations. When a Gen1 unit fails and the only available replacement is a Gen2 unit, the two are not plug-and-play: the replacement doesn't carry your car's immobilizer / component-protection identity, so the vehicle won't accept it.

This service bridges that gap. We take the immobilizer and component-protection data from your original (Gen1) unit and carry it across to a matching Gen2 software image. The result is a Gen2 unit that your car recognizes as its own — the immobilizer stays intact and fully functional.

Important: this is a repair procedure. Your existing security data is preserved and transferred, never removed, disabled, or bypassed.

How it works

1. Order the service and read out your original Gen1 unit (FLASH + EEPROM) using your tool of choice (bench / boot mode).
2. Send us both original files
3. We prepare the Gen2 software with your vehicle's identity carried over and return the ready-to-write files, typically within [your turnaround here].
4. Write the files to the Gen2 unit and install. The car keeps its immobilizer — no re-adaptation of the immobilizer required.

Output formats

Files are supplied for the common bench/boot workflows — FLEX (separate FLASH / EEPROM files) or PCM-FLASH (combined image) — so they drop straight into your programmer.
